Adobe’s New AI Tool: 10,000 Images, One Click – Magic or Mayhem?

Forget spending hours resizing images or changing backgrounds one by one. Adobe’s new generative AI tool, Firefly Bulk Create, is here to revolutionise the way we edit images. With just one click, you can now resize or swap the background of up to 10,000 images – perfect for marketers who need a lot done, fast.

In its beta form, Firefly Bulk Create is split into two tools: Remove Background and Resize. The Remove Background tool is simple – just upload your images and let AI do the hard work of clearing out the background. Want to get fancy? You can swap in a specific background colour or even an image of your choice, giving you endless variations to play with. The catch? It currently only supports PNG and JPEG, but Adobe promises to add PSD support soon.

Then there’s the Resize tool, designed to help you quickly fit images into ad banners for TikTok, Instagram, or Facebook. While the idea is good, the execution is still a little dodgy – images can look warped and stretched, especially when backgrounds don’t play nice with the resizing magic. But for quick and dirty resizing, it could save designers a heap of time.

There’s also a Dubbing and Lip Sync feature for translating video audio into 14 languages, and even Digital Avatars that can speak and explain things in product demos.

But here’s the kicker – all this wizardry comes at a cost. Adobe plans to charge users based on “consumption,” meaning you’ll likely need a premium Firefly plan to access these features. In other words, the more you use it, the more you’ll pay. Worth it? That depends on how much time you’re willing to save (and how deep your pockets are).

In short, if you’re looking for a tool that does the heavy lifting of bulk image editing, Firefly Bulk Create might just be your new best friend – just don’t expect it to work miracles straight out of the box.
